Lighter colors open up a room

This does not mean you have to paint your bathroom white, but light, pastel colors visually open spaces. You might consider a lighter color floor if yours is dark. Paint the walls soft shades of peach, cream or any color of light. Save bright colors for accents such as small towel or artwork for the walls. The top of the vanity and the doors down, should be clear. For cabinet doors in wood, this can be achieved easily with a little paint. If you use towels to decorate, choose colors that complement the rest of the room.

Bring more light on

Add the light illuminates the eye area and opens up any room. In a bathroom, consider wall sconces for extra lighting and recessed lighting in the ceiling or a small lamp for vanity. If your budget allows, consider a skylight to allow natural light to illuminate the room.
